House Of Cards

Contemporary Feline Haven in Bengaluru

Nestled in the heart of bustling Bengaluru, our studio was entrusted with an exciting task: to craft a contemporary interior that harmoniously caters to both the vibrant lifestyle of Arun Murali’s family and the whims of their feline companions. With a shared love for board games and a flair for the unique, this home beautifully reflects their passion for creating meaningful spaces. It’s a house that tells stories, each corner filled with life, color, and playful purpose.

We fondly refer to it as the House of Cards, where the physical meets the digital—the family’s favorite way to bond over board games in this phygital world. Arun captured it best when he mused, “This place is a combination of three varying sensibilities.” His observation struck a chord, highlighting the cohesive yet distinct design layers we aimed for. And of course, one element we all agreed on was creating whimsical playgrounds for their cats—spaces that were as stylish as they were functional for the humans.

Colorful decor accents collected from the family’s travels come together in a vivid ensemble that offers a window into their lively lifestyle. The foyer greets guests with a stretch of pristine white brick, evoking the charm of a silent- movie set—minimal yet rich in character. This white brick motif extends into the living room, seamlessly integrating into the cats’ playful domains. Imagine the sight of their Persian cats climbing and perching on these textured surfaces, all while surrounded by bold, accentuated furniture.

The dining space, a double-height oasis of laughter and flavors, quickly catches the eye—particularly the cats’ joyful exploration. It’s here, amid the culinary warmth and shared meals, that the home’s heart truly beats. In contrast, the guest bedroom dazzles with a bold splash of yellow, while the rest of the house plays with a more subdued white palette. The juxtaposition of colors is intentional, designed to surprise and captivate, yet remain balanced. It’s all about creating visual intrigue without overwhelming the senses.

The kitchen—a hub of activity for the couple—radiates vibrancy but remains grounded in functionality. It’s as much a cooking space as it is a visual anchor, connecting seamlessly to the living areas with its energetic palette and cohesive textures.

As you ascend the polished granite staircase, geometric railings play with light, drawing your attention to the French windows that flood the transitional spaces with daylight. The strategically placed mirror captures a striking view, reflecting movement and moments in the home’s dynamic double-height space. The master bedroom exudes comfort, with dappled warm tones, layered textiles, and a cocoon-like feel thanks to the bay window seating. A study space within offers a serene retreat where art, nature, and functionality converge in perfect harmony. Meanwhile, the guest bedroom takes a bolder approach, with a mauve-and-pink theme that’s both playful and sophisticated. An L-shaped headboard adds modern flair while carving out an intimate reading nook—a small but significant touch of thoughtful design.

The crown jewel of the house, however, is the board game room. Here, joy knows no bounds as adults and children gather around, surrounded by an eclectic mix of keepsakes and souvenirs from their many travels. It’s a space that’s both nostalgic and vibrant, where the family comes together for social offline time, creating memories around a wooden table that seems to hum with the energy of Parisian charm. Arun wouldn’t trade this space for the world, and we at Creative Geometry are deeply proud of how the home we’ve crafted so intimately reflects the Murali family’s spirit.

This home doesn’t just speak—it emotes, encapsulating the family’s love for design, play and each other in every brick, hue, and detail.
